Abstract: A procedure for calculation of volumetric strains in axi-symmetric problem of fluid vibrations is presented in this paper. The calculation of the volumetric strains consists of two stages. First the volumetric strain is calculated using the displacement formulation by the method of finite elements. Then the field of volumetric strain is determined using the procedure of conjugate approximation and Abel transformation for axi-symmetric problem. The obtained field of volumetric strain can be effectively used in hybrid experimental - numerical techniques and help to interpret experimentally produced holographic interferograms
