Abstract (en)
This article analyses the achievements of intensive implementation of ICT and e-learning in Lithuanian universities, as well as related problems and the solutions to these problems. It also describes the strategy of implementation of the new technologies into the process of learning and the reasons that determined the choice of strategy in the Lithuanian universities. In addition, the article discusses the main factors that determine the need of new learning methods and technologies at universities, the needs of students and the tendencies of their ICT competence development. The problems of the expansion of e-learning efficiency and the tendencies of distance learning integration are also emphasised in the article.
