Plant biotechnology was used for induction of polyploidal forms of diploidal medicinal plants. The task was to increase productivity of biologically active compounds. Comparative analysis of antioxidant activity of induced polyploidal and primary diploidal forms of annual medicinal plants was carried out. The polyploidal forms obtained demonstrated the ability to be reproduced vegetatively in vitro. Antioxidant activity of polyploidal plants grown in vitro comparing to the control samples in most of cases was higher. From capillary electrophoretic and HPLC analysis of extracts of medicinal plants it can be concluded, that composition of extracts of diploidal and polyploidal forms differ quantitatively and qualitatively. Evaluation of the accumulation of biologically active compounds in the course of their vegetation was carried out.
