Straipsnyje siekiama atskleisti studentų nuotolinio mokymosi reikšmę šiandieninėje informacinėje visuomenėje, pristatyti nuotolinio mokymosi atvejį ir aptarti nuotolinio mokymosi vertinimo rezultatus. Atliktas kiekybinis nuotolinio mokymosi vertinimo tyrimas atskleidė teigiamą besimokančiųjų požiūrį į nuotolines studijas bei įrodė, kad nuotolinis mokymas – reikšminga ir neabejotinai naudinga didaktinė sistema, sukurianti visaapimančio ugdymo prielaidas.
Actuality of the problem. Constantly growing flow of information, improving quality of technologies as well as economic, social and cultural changes issue new requirements for students learning. High schools nowadays strive to be both massive, open and to serve the demands of rising information society. It is optimistic, when contemporary Lithuanians understand, that distance studies is a way of learning that can be used as a separate measure in a daily adult learning context. High schools show their competence integrating distance learning into formal studies in Lithuania, as it is evident in reality. Distance learning, that corresponds academic students learning orientation, should give opportunity to involve people into deep academic level studies and scientific problems. This means that this kind of learning will win advantage against traditional studies. Firstly, we need to pay attention to the fact, that information technologies used in distance learning creates circumstances for deep studies to browse, analyse, file and spread that information. Nonetheless, it is really important to widen discussion of high academic quality among participants. Secondly, distance learning can be integrated into existing practice at universities and become modernizing factor there. Alternatively, it can be a new institution of high education, functioning as an essential form of didactic learning.
