Abstract: The possibility to explore the values system by using specific cultural syndromes (individualism / collectivism, vertical / horizontal culture) is discussed in the article. These syndromes have a direct effect on communication and value system because they affect norms and rules that guide behavior. A progressive tendency that individualism changes collectivism is general in Lithuania. But the process is not the same in different social groups. It causes cultural stress. The analysis of the manifestation of cultural syndromes in different social groups can explain their specific attitudes
