Abstract (en)
Hydrogen can be used as a fuel. One of the way for hydrogen manufacturing is decomposition of water molecules. This paper reviews water molecules decomposition by different methods. Several methods are discussed: electrolysis; thermo chemical; photo conversion; radiolysis. To atomize water molecules electrolysis uses electric current, thermolysis uses source of heat, photo conversion uses direct sunlight and radiolysis uses radiant energy. The most widely used method is electrolysis. Recent developments indicate to advantages of photo electrolysis.
