Abstract: At the end of the World War II two thirds of the Lithuanian writers, i.e. 70 members of the Writer's Association of Lithuania, withdrew from Lithuania. In spite of the pain of loss this period (1945-1950) for the majority of them was especiallly creative in one sense or other. In the history of Lithuanian exile culture this period is especially rich in the number in published books and periodicals. In DP camps in Germany during these five years about 216 literary works were published.[...]
