Abstract: Many translators of the older and younger generation translate from Latvian into Lithuanian: Veronika Admonīte, Vlads Brazjūns, Erika Drunģīte, Dzintra Elga Irbīte, Vilma Kaladīte, Laura Laurašaite, Arvīds Valjonis, Renata Zajančauskaite. They help Lithuaniansget acquainted with the contemporary Latvian authors, know more about the current trends in Latvian literature, introduce new authors. However, there are not many translations of poetry and prose yet. Most of them can be found in Lithuanian culture periodicals; for example, the poetry of the young authors Anna Aziņa, Ingmāra Balode, Jānis Elsbergs, Pēteris Dragūns, Marts Pujāts, and Kārlis Vērdiņš is published only magazines.
