Abstract: This work presents the results of numerical simulation of third harmonic (TH) generation of coherent laser beams in periodically polled quadratic medium. Influence of the maximum intensity and initial width of the first harmonic beam and focusing on TH generation dynamics in the medium and the maximum efficiency and the quality parameter of the TH beam M2. It is demonstrated that the beam diffraction and focusing can increase noticeably the maximum efficiency of TH generation in comparison to generation efficiency in case of plane waves
