Abstract (en)
The aim of this study was to compare three different techniques for the assessment of volatile compounds in the local honey samples. The volatiles were isolated from honey by the extraction with organic solvents (pentane: diethylether using ultrasound and in the Likens-Nickerson apparatus). The third applied method was solid phase microextraction (SPME) on Carboxen™/Polydimethylsiloxane 75 µm fiber. The composition of honey volatile compounds was almost similar in the organic extracts, but some compounds were found only in one of them; concentrations of volatiles were also different. SPME resulted in the detection of considerably lower amount of volatiles.
