The article analyses the situation of labor immigration into Lithuania and defines theoretical and practical aspects of migrants’ incorporation models. Contemporary labor migration is a unique form of human mobility which has a big impact on the social and economic sectors of the state. It also affects individual migrants and their families regardless of residence. Therefore, migrants’ status determines their interaction with the receiving society, their level of integration, and their participation in public life. In the context of a theoretical background of migration theory and migration practice in Lithuania, the connection between human mobility, the structure of the labor market, and the country’s economic development was taken into consideration. On the basis of the analysis of labor migrants’ status and integration practice, the article deals with migrants’ social characteristics, the theoretical background of incorporation models as well as with society’s attitudes towards them. Considering the analysis of society’s attitudes towards migrants and factors of migration policy formation, the article also presents fragments of public discourse.
