The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between students’ Type A behaviour and their sleep quality. Materials and methods. 99 students (37 male and 62 female) of Vytautas Magnus University took part in the recent study. Participants range in age from 18 to 25 years. Type A behaviour of the students was measured using the Student Jenkins Activity Survey (SJAS) (Fischer, Corcoran, 1994). The questionnaire consists of 31 questions for the assessment of subjective sleep quality, and was constructed and based on a background of scienti.c literature analysis (Vosylis, Žukauskiene, Perminas, 2009; Brand, Frei, Hatzinger, Holsboer-Trachsler 2005; Carskadon, Wolfson, Acebo, Tzischinsy, Seifer, 1998; Manni et al. 1997; Smith, Reilly, Midki), 1999; Tynjälä, Kannas, Levälahti, Välimaa, 1999). Results. The results of the study show that men with Type A behaviour take more time to fall asleep then Type B behaviour students. Type B (tension factor) behaviour women feel better in the morning than Type A behaviour women but Type B (tension factor) women feel more sleepy during the daytime. Type B (responsibility factor) behaviour women sleep longer than Type A behaviour women.
