Abstract
Masių sukilimo teorija, formaliai pradėta nagrinėti tarpukario laikotarpiu parašytoje to paties pavadinimo José Ortegos y Gasseto knygoje, postmodernioje epochoje tapo kaip niekad gajus fenomenas, ypač aktualus Vakarų Europos šalių visuomenėms. Nagrinėjamas konkretus atvejis, 2004 m. Ispanijos parlamento rinkimus tiesiogiai nulėmęs prieš tris dienas – t. y. kovo 11 d. Madride įvykę teroristiniai aktai. Nemažos Ispanijos liaudies dalies, pabūgusios naujų kruvinų išpuolių, balsais buvo nuversta teroristams nepalanki dešiniųjų vyriausybė, o dauguma balsų buvo atiduoti opozicinei kairiųjų koalicijai. Šis reiškinys vaizdžiai įkūnijo masių mentaliteto pergalę – rinktis paliatyvų kelią laikinam problemos sprendimui, nepaisant ateityje neišvengiamai besikaupiančių dar didesnių sunkumų.
A theory of the revolt of the masses formally was taken into scientific consideration during the inter-war period as was written down in a book with the same title by José Ortega y Gasset. In postmodern era this theory as a genuine phenomenon has become more relevant than ever before, especially regarding Western European societies. This paper analyses a specific case of it. The results of Spanish parliamentary elections 2004 was heavily influenced by terrorist acts in Madrid a few days earlier. Numerous parts of the Spanish demos, frightened of the new possible bloody attacks, overthrew the rightwing government which was hostile to terrorists, by giving a majority of electoral votes to the opposition, left-wing coalition. This phenomenon had vividly materialised the victory of mass mentality – to choose a temporary palliative way of solving the problem, despite the inevitable and even greater hardship in near future.
