Abstract: Pastaraisiais dešimtmečiais Europa susiduria su rimtais iššūkiais: sparčiai vystosi ekonomika, kuriamos naujos technologijos, keičiasi socialiniai santykiai, dėl kurių suaugusiųjų ugdymo tikslai tampa vis aktualesnis visais atžvilgiais. Įsiliejimas į Europos Sąjungą sąlygoja naujus reikalavimus nuolatos kintančiai visuomenei – norą tobulėti ir nuolat ugdytis. Individas turi sugebėti veikti ir gyventi kintančioje politinėje bei ekonominėje sistemoje, ir turi būti pasiryžęs veiksmingai joje dirbti. Norint išlikti aktyviam šiandieninėje žinių visuomenėje, būtina garantuoti įvairiapusišką ir nuolatinį mokymąsi, kuris individui padėtų įgyti trūkstamų arba atnaujinti pamirštas žinias ir įgūdžius. Lietuvos formaliojo suaugusiųjų švietimo įstaigų vadyba nepakankamai suefektyvinta, kad galėtų užtikrinti maksimalų šių įstaigų galimybių panaudojimą. Daug autorių rašo ir tyrinėja apie formaliojo švietimo įtaką besimokančiajam, kvalifikacijos kėlimo būdus, mokymo svarbą ateities gerovei kurti, bet mažai tyrinėja suaugusiųjų švietimo įstaigų vadybos klausimus: suaugusiųjų švietimo kiekybės gerinimas, plėtra ir šių įstaigų populiarinimas. Magistro darbo tikslas − išanalizuoti Lietuvos suaugusiųjų švietimo sistemos vystymosi eigą ir numatyti plėtros galimybes. Darbo uždaviniai: išanalizuoti vadybos sąsajas su suaugusiųjų švietimo sistema Lietuvoje, išanalizuoti Lietuvos formaliojo – bendrojo ugdymo bei neformaliojo suaugusiųjų švietimo dalies – TAU vystymąsi vadybiniu aspektu, išnagrinėti besimokančių suaugusiųjų nuomones apie švietimo vadybos kokybę bei plėtros galimybes, pateikti metodines rekomendacijas Lietuvos suaugusiųjų švietimui.
