Abstract: My work basically consist on comparison of two, poetess, Kazimiery Zawistowskiej and Salomėji Nėris. I want to show the similiarities and the differences between their poetry and the things that distinguish and also was general for both. It would worth to mention, that both had lived a short life. I haven‘t found any articles, monographies which would mention the question Ive chose. The Polish poetess died being 32 years old, Lithuanian, when she had 40 years, Both of them have left in subconsciousness of readers and have been forever young and beautiful. I showed in my work some fragments from poetesses life, which, in my opinion, would help to understand the creativity of women. An existence is, the main problem that dominates in their poetry, Zawistowska and Nėris represents the most impulsive wave of modernism. The one of the most important places in her poetry is occupied by erotic poetry, Zawistowska becomes the first women writing about physical closeness of people, women become the speaking person in her poems. It would be necessary to notice, that the first man in Polish literature, writing about sensuality, was Kazimierz Przerwa Tetmajer. As well as Kazimierz and Kazimiera at their poetry - ,,I love, when the women..” - say the sexual act is the biggest blessing, drowsiness, sharp, bodies are show in light fine paints. The motive of sexuality of Kazimiera Zawistowska is first of all her memories, the melancholy about the things that was in the life which won’t return any more, Salomėja Nėris in her creativity represents sufferings, pain, desintegration, pleasure. She is more modest. The sexual motives aren’t so underlined as at Polish poetess. The Lithuanian literature was developing much more slowly than Polish. When Polish modernism reached the top, in the Lithuanian literature the modernistic tendencies had been joined with realism and romanticism. Two poetesses unites symbolism. There are a lot of words melancholy, pessimism, death, pity in the poetry of Zawistowska and Nėris. We can find a desire of death in poetry of Zawistowska. The death is a disposal flight of a unsuccessful life, returning in paradise. In poetry of Nėris the ideas of life are more quiet, she writes much more gently. Her verses show intensive spiritual ways of life, a high pressure of conflicts of soul and a tragical sence of existence of mankind. The presentiment of death is appreciable at both poetesses poetry.
