Straipsnyje keliamas tikslas – atskleisti ugdymo karjerai procese veikiančius subjektus istoriniame kontekste. Pateikiami teorinio tyrimo rezultatai: atskleidžiama ugdymo karjerai raiška istoriniame kontekste, išryškinami ugdymo karjerai procese veikiantys subjektai XXI a.
Choosing a profession is one of the critical acts a human being takes in a lifetime. Rapid social changes stimulate new professions to emerge, as well as modifications in conventional professions. It is critical to discover to what extent historical context determines changes in subjects of career education. Do historical circumstances determine the conditions? What are these conditions? The aim of this work is to reveal the subjects of career education within historical context. Objectives: 1.To reveal the expression of career education within historical context. 2.To point out the effective subjects of career education. After researching the systems of career education within historical context in relevant scientific works, it has been clarified that the pioneer efforts to create the system of vocational guidance have been started in the 20th century. Educational as well as psychological background in Lithuania has been created in the period between 1940 and 1990. The concept of conscious choice of profession in accordance to pupil’s needs, vocation, and abilities became more noticeable in the wake of declaration of independence of Lithuania. The concept of vocational guidance, as well as expanded circle of subjects responsible for career education, has been determined by joining the European environment. Research of relevant scientific works has proven that secondary school plays main role in career education. The role of higher education schools, as well as business and community representatives, has been highlighted.
