dc.description.abstractThe eminent Lithuanian historian Zenonas Ivinskis (1908—1971) was not a professional researcher only. He had been a history teacher in Daukantas teacher’s seminary when he was a student in the university. Later, he also had activities as professor of history at Vytautas Magnus University, Universities of Vilnius and Bonn. Professor Penkauskas’ lectures on didactics of history formed the basis of Ivinskis’ views on this subject, and so the young historian extended his knowledge of the works of German researchers i.e. of Baungartner, Willmann, Bruckman, Achilles, Feder. There also were several articles on didactics of history written by young Ivinskis. The problems touched in these articles were those of differentiation in teaching history, the use of visual aids and the selection of teaching materials.-
