Abstract: Amelija Mažylytė (1900-1972) was the first Lithuanian woman, graduate of The Lithuanian University in Department of Mathematics and also philosophy, and a participant of the catholic women movement. She started dissemination of knowledge of the history of mathematics in the Lithuanian language. The article presents enhanced biography of Amelija Mažylytė and the work of her research interests. Special attention is given to publications about the history of arithmetic, the development of geometry and the universally known specialist of mathematics C. Gauss
