The paper undertakes to discuss the problem of the child with the risk of dyslexia - the term introduced by Prof. M. Bodganowicz and applied in the literature of the subject with reference to preschool education. The author delineates the importance of detecting the problem at the early stage of a child s education (the kindergarten) as it leads to serious disorders later in the schoolchildren’s lives: by applying proper connective exercises it is possible to successfully prevent problems in reading and writing from developing. Then, the results of the author’s survey of the present state of preparation of the pre-school education centers based in Opole region are shown and discussed. By quoting a number of findings the author exposes the weak points in the system of prophylactics and therapy provided by the institutions to children with the risk of developmental dyslexia. In the conclusion the necessity of raising the awareness of the problem among teachers and parents is postulated and emphasized.
