The subject of the Battle of Pabaiskas has not been extensively elaborated in literature. Sparse literary texts about the battle are characterised by educative and conservative, rather than artistically transforming strategy, as well as by collective rather than individual images. These texts are mostly written by amateurs and in a dilettante manner, and are abundant in clichės about a fratricide battle. The vvriters tend to content with reminders and repetitions. Assuming the role of history popularisers, they stiek to a factographic histo-rical story. The amateur authors demonstrate eloseness to the doeumentary by adding pietures of Pabaiskas monuments, as vvell as citing and paraphra-sing publications of science popularisation, booklets and encyclopaedias. The Battle of Pabaiskas is more artistically refleeted in Antanas Vienuolis "Anykščių padavimai" (Anykščiai Stories), as vvell as poems of Vladas Braziūnas and Vytautas Landsbergis. In art, the motifs of the Battle of Pabaiskas are mainly presented in a monumentai and occasional way. Examples of applied or monumentai art are prevailing (the stained-glass of Šarūnas Šimulynas and the sculptural mo-nument of Viktoras Žentelis are distinguished by their artistry). Similarly to its representation in literature, the Battle is presented not moving avvay from collective art forms (wayside shrines) emphasising the themes of anguish and meaningless death.
