Straipsnio tikslas – atskleisti lietuvių liaudies muzikos instrumento „kanklės“ naudojimą katalikiškose apeigose. Atlikta mokslinės medžiagos analizė pagrindžia darbe iškeltą hipotezę, kad lietuvių liaudies muzikos instrumentas „kanklės“ 17-21 amžių sandūroje buvo Šiaurė Rytų Europos katalikiškosios etninės kultūros simbolis.
The Lithuanian religious ethno-instrumentological ethnology has only recently started to enjoy some interest. Kanklės - a wooden box of graceful form with wire strings. Based on publications of scientific articles of the authors as well as on the analysis of the sociologic survey of the last decade, the task of research is to disclose the changes of the role and significance of kanklės in Catholic rites in Lithuania. A hypothesis of the survey is put forward and substantiated that at the turn of the millennia, kanklės in Catholic rites in Lithuania do play a different role than they did in the XXIth century and Lithuanian Original Church services in the Catholic culture are the last piety forms which appear in the North East Europe in the seventeenth-twentieth one centuries.
