Abstract (en)
In this work we reflect on the factors causing the downturn trend in Informatics enrollments at universities in Europe and the U.S. We analyze data from European and North American reports on the computer science and informatics study programmes and review the concept of the “school of information” as a possible remedy for the decreasing popularity of computer science. Finally, we suggest what specific steps should be taken to revamp the informatics study programmes in Lithuania.
