dc.description.abstract | The effectiveness of the application of a mineral modifiers of engine oils to restore the compression of the cylinder-piston group of internal combustion engines has been investigated. Based on the results of full-scale tests of four different passenger cars operated in the urban cycle, the effect of increasing the compression of the cylinders up to 20 %, compared with the initial one, and reducing the pressure difference between them by up to four times was established. The found effect reached its stable value after a run of 2000–4000 km and persisted until the end of the experiment (10000 km). It has been found that if the recommended engine flush procedure is followed before using oil with a friction modifier complete engine failure can occur . According to preliminary data, the probability of this event is 20—30 %. | en |
