Tradiciniai amatai Europos sąjungos šalyse laikoma viena iš žemės ūkiui alternatyvių veiklos rūšių ir duoda nemažą ekonominę ir socialinę naudą kaimo vietovėms, kadangi ši veikla yra naujų darbo vietų ir pajamų šaltinis kaimo gyventojams. Todėl šiame straipsnyje analizuojama tradicinių amatų situaciją Lietuvoje ir vertinamos jų plėtros galimybes.
The wares of traditional handicrafts get better demand in modern market. Specifically rural handicrafts for rural locality or ethnographical region, recreation are very important for increasing vitality and attraction of the locality. While sponsoring rural people, who do traditional handicrafts, apply them to the needs of modern market and create new workplaces, the government promotes an alternative economic activity to agriculture in countryside and small towns. Presumptions are also made to preserve the cultural heritage of the unique ethnographical regions of the country and to provide a new meaning in the modern world. In addition, the Lithuanian wares of traditional handicrafts are influential to tourists from other countries who want "to discover" Lithuania. Due to this, the situation of traditional handicrafts in Lithuania and the possibilities of development are analyzed in this article.
