The contingent of Lithuanians settling in Great Britain after World War II developed an active and creative cultural life, in which literary activity played an important part. This article briefly presents the activities of the British section of the Lithuanian Writers' Association as well as discusses the life and works of important writers who as members of the society actively participated it. These include Kazimieras Barėnas (Barauskas), Romualdas Giedraitis - Spalis, Fabijonas Neveravičius, and Vladas Šlaitas. Lithuanian literary life in Great Britain rested on the shoulders of a few enterprising writers. Without their diligence in publishing books and organizing literary evenings Lithuanian cultural life in Great Britain would have been much poorer.
