The aim of the investigation was to establish pathogens in New Guinea impatiens (Impatiens hawkeri). The experiment carried out in the greenhouse of farmer R. Pauliukas Panevėžys district in 2012. Fungi belonging to Alternaria, Botrytis, Fusarium, Verticillium, Rhizoctonia, Oidium and Plasmopara genera were identified in New Guinea impatiens plants. The investigations of the morphological features revealed that Alternaria leaf spot (Alternaria spp.), gray mould (Botrytis cinerea), mildew (Oidium sp.), downy mildew (Plasmopara obducens) and root rots (Rhizoctonia sp., Fusarium sp., Verticillium sp.) are the most harmful diseases. Obtained data revealed that 33.3 % of investigated plants were infected with mildew, downy mildew. 'Paradise Logia' breed New Guinea impatiens were mostly sensitive: 48 % Plasmopara obducens, 23 % Alternaria sp., 22 % Rhizoctonia sp., Fusarium sp., 17 % Botrytis cinerea (in 100 infected units). Less sensitive to disease were impatiens breed named 'Paradise Moorea': 52 % Plasmopara obducens, 30 % Botrytis cinerea, 18 % Rhizoctonia sp., Fusarium sp. (in 50 units). Root rot was manifested in a significantly different manner among different types of impatiens.
