The purpose of present study is to obtain a comprehension for the momentum and heat transfer developments in gravitational liquid film flow. A simple model liquid film flow on a vertical surface with cross curvature based on force equilibrium equations is presented in the paper. Theoretical presumptions concerned with variation of shear stress in the gravitational laminar film are discussed. The variation dependence of shear stress in the film upon the different cross curvature values is shown in the study. Experimental investigation of heat transfer in the entrance region for the turbulent film was carried out as well. The description of experimental set-up is presented. The experiments were performed with water flowing down a surface of vertical tube. The results of experiments are discussed with respect to the local heat transfer dependence upon Reynolds number and initial velocity of the film. Heat transfer stabilization length was determined experimentally.
