The paper describes possibilities of utilization of waste fat of animal origin and used for frying oil for biodiesel fuel production. Quality parameters of such wastes are presented. According to these parameters optimal composition of raw materials for effective biodiesel fuel production were determined: mixture containing waste fat of animal origin and used for frying oil in the mass ratio of 1:2. Optimal conditions of esterification of such raw material are presented. Process of separation and purification of product after esterification process was investigated and optimal parameters are chosen seeking to reduce product acidity and to increase transesterification yield. It was found that optimal raw material for transesterification process is mixture of partially esterified and purified fatty wastes and rapeseed oil in mass proportion 1:1. Quality parameters of product obtained after transesterification were analysed and possibilities for improvement of oxidation stability and cold flow properties were investigated. It was found that oxidation stability of fatty acid methyl esters could be effectively increased by adding 500 ppm of antioxidants lonol BF200 or Irganox 107. Cold How properties could be improved by using depressant Viscoplex 10-305 (5000 ppm). These additives allow to increase product quality seeking to meet biodiesel fuel standard requirements.
