Abstract (en)
This paper is concerned with such a category of discourse as a structural and semantical coherence of text. Any text can be divided into groups of closely related sentences. The basis for such a division of text into stanzas of proze is the structural and semantical unity of sentences. A unified microtopic, mutual semantical relations between sentences, substitutes of place and time are the devices that maintain the semantical coherence of the sentences in text. The structural coherence of text is supported by a variety of lexical devices, such as lexical repetition, substitutions with pronouns, synonymous substitutions and textual antonyms. Similar devices are used to maintain a relation of coherence between stanzas of proze in text.
