Иерархия Гедиминовичей в свете некрологов битвы над Ворсклой 1399 г

Abstract

The following article analizes the information collected from a special group of sources – obituaries connected with the battle of the Vorskla river in 1399 and loses on the Lithaunian side in this battle, as well as the impact on the hierarchical structure of the Gediminovichi dynasty. Author came to two main conclusions. First, the list of persons and their order in the obituaries suggest, that the sons of the rulers (Algirdas and Jaunutis), regardles of their occupations, where leaders of the dynastical structure. Second, the position of particular members of the dynasty depended on one main factor – loyalty towards the Grand Duke.
