Each organization creates a product or service in the course of its activities, creating added value for the consumers. An important challenge for all business organizations is to manage operations efficiently. At a certain time, supplying a certain amount of raw materials, products - semi-finished products, adequate equipment, human resources, energy and other resources to the internal units of the organization to ensure the smooth running of the processes and to create the final product placed on the market. The article is methodologically divided into two parts. In the first part the analysis and synthesis of the scientific literature is presented. The second part of the article presents the value chain models of the organization. Purpose. After analysing the theoretical concepts of the value chain to suggest models of the value chain strategy in the context of the supply chain. Methodology. In order, to achieve the above purpose, the paper first presents analysis and synthesis of scientific literature.
