L. P. Karsavin develops a negative dialectic of Nicholas of Cusa, contrasting the two principles of organization of Universe — unitas contracta and explicatio Dei — and developing the idea of sacrificial, but, nevertheless, erotic love, creating herewith the own concept of overcoming of the fire barrier of coincidentia oppositorum. In the philosophy of Cusanus contractum means the visible certainty of the world and discursive knowledge, and explicatio means the self-revelation of God as Possest. Karsavin finds that both principles are not sufficiently disclosed and seeks to emphasize their differences more clearly, he ponders how this contradiction can be resolved in his theory of symphonic and then pulsating personality. He disputes with philosophical teachings of Giordano Bruno and Semyon Frank on the both issues: about the overcoming of empirical certainty (сontractum) and about passionate love as the condition of this overcoming. This article aims to comprehend the cognitive and existential value of such a panpsychic solution of problem. In this case we replace the concept of pantheis tic tendencies by the category of panpsychism. At the same time, the phenomenon of passion reveals the limitation of material certainty and encourages the development of panpsychic metaphysics, in this case, the metaphysics of love, in the field of which the personal and transcendental are revealed.
