The object of research is the prevalence of workplace ostracism and how can management decisions reduce ostracism by increasing workplace dignity. The scientific literature was analyzed in order to review the theoretical aspects and present concepts of ostracism and dignity in the workplace. Theory and research show that ostracism can undermine organizational effectiveness because this form of passive antisocial behavior is associated with unethical behavior, psychological anxiety, health problems, impaired organizational citizenship, inefficiency, poor performance, conflicts between co-workers, decreased job satisfaction or commitment. Reducing ostracism in the workplace by enhancing dignity in the workplace would help create a safe environment for employees, the organization to work effectively and to achieve goals.
