Abstract (en)
The development of short food supply chains is encouraged in the European Union and Lithuania, and the main goal is to ensure that quality agricultural products reach the final consumer as soon as possible. Therefore, short food supply chains enable consumers to get healthier, more valuable food without having to pay extra to the intermediary when buying. Thus, short food supply chains benefit both local producers and consumers. However, to supply food to consumers, it is also necessary to know the legal framework governing food supply, food safety, public procurement rules and other legal nuances.
