Abstract (en)
It is emphasized in the article, that the motive of death is very often repeated in the short stories of Antanas Vaičiulaitis, indeed. Deaths of the characters are simply involved in the eternal circle of life and death without any sign of interception or attempts to alternate. Death comes irrespective of gender, age or trade. Movement towards death is often symbolised by a figure of a road, and the real embrace of death is identified with home. Therefore the semantics of death in the discussed works of Antanas Vaičiulaitis is unfolded though the trip from This Side to the Beyond.
