Dr. Vygantas Malinauskas is a lecturer of jurisprudence at Vytautas Magnus University Faculty of Law and Faculty of Catholic Theology. He teaches regular courses with titles such as “Legal Theory”, “Legal argumentation”, “Church – State relations”. He is co-author of several books and publications on topics across his areas of interests. In addition to academic work, he is a regular contributor to a variety of media portals, online journals and blogs writing on legal, social, political and moral issues. Also, he is a member of Bilateral commissions of Lithuanian Government and Holy See (Vatican) for implementation for international treaties and a member Legal Commission of Bishops' Conferences of the European Union (COMECE). As an expert and a member of working groups he contributed to the drafting of several legislative proposals to the Lithuanian Parliament. He is a member of the board of several NGO’s and advocacy groups, including Free Society Institute. His research interests – human rights, legal theory, theory of justice, natural law, legal ethics, legal argumentation, Church and State relations.
