Ruzaitė, Jūratė

Abstract

Jūratė Ruzaitė is a Professor at the Department of Foreign Language, Literary and Translation Studies at Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas. She earned her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Bergen. Her research focuses on discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, language and ideology, hate speech, disinformation, learner language, and linguistic landscapes. She has coordinated and participated in (inter)national research projects and published extensively on argumentative strategies in public discourse, (im)politeness, and offensive language. She served as Associate Editor of the Lithuanian Applied Linguistics Journal (2018–2024), is a scientific expert at the Lithuanian Research Council, and a board member of the International Language and Law Association (ILLA) and the Lithuanian Association of Applied Linguistics.
