Ieva Dryžaitė has a PhD in Sociology and her research interests include the sociology of precarity, economy, new poverty, social suffering, gender, family and time. She studied Sociology at Vytautas Magnus University and the University of Alicante and has participated in international programs in Italy, Spain and the USA, gaining valuable academic and professional experience. Ieva Dryžaitė has contributed to a range of national and international projects, including GENIE: Generative AI for Inclusive Education and Empowerment, The Changing Role of the Local Councilor in Self-Governance: Leadership, Institutions, and Communities, Family, Inequality and Demographic Processes, COHSMO, Implementation of the Network of Autism-Friendly Libraries, and Libraries for Innovation 2, among others. Since 2014, she has conducted diverse academic and applied sociological research, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods. Her works have been published in scientific and popular outlets, and she has presented at conferences, delivered public lectures, and facilitated trainings for students, various community groups, library staff and visitors. Beyond academia, Ieva Dryžaitė actively promotes public sociology through the initiative #SociologySkrynelė and coordinates the social club “Pasibalbatuokim”.
