Obelenienė, Birutė

Abstract

Birutė Obelenienė is a professor of the Theology Department and senior researcher of the Research center on Marriage and Family in Vytautas Magnus university, Senator of VMU. She completed her Master's studies at Kaunas Medical Institute in Pharmacy faculty and defended her doctoral dissertation at Vytautas Magnus University in 2007. She is the author of more than 50 scientific publications, the author of the monography "From birth control to self-awareness and free informed decision making; compiler and coauthor of the scientific monography "Medicine, ethics, and law about human until birth", two books "Ethics of sexuality education" and “Fertility awareness and natural family planning". B.Obelenienė is a vice –chairwoman of the editorial board of scientific journal Soter of Faculty of Catholic Theology, manager of the master study program “Family research”, and NFP teachers training program, an expert of Ministry of education and science of Lithuania. Research interest: ethics of sexuality education, bioethics, conjugal ethics, natural family planning, youth preparation for marriage and family life.
