Abstract: This article analyzes subjective experience of happiness in school among young adolescents with special needs and seeks to find ways in which these adolescent experience their happiness in school. The data for this study comes from five young adolescents with special needs. Subjective experience of happiness was measured using semi-structured interview method. The data was analyzed using phenomenological analysis method by Smith (2007) (IPA). Young adolescents' subjective experience of happiness in school is associated with others' evaluation, good academic performance and experienced academic success. Adolescents' with special needs subjective experience of happiness is interrelated with positive and negative relationships with peers and friends. Young adolescents' with special needs subjective experience of happiness is also related to materialism, family communication and personal space. Experience of happiness is also linked to personal characteristics.
