Abstract: Tyrimo tikslas – ištirti ryšį tarp akademinių pasiekimų, patiriamo socialinio palaikymo ir studentų subjektyviai suvokiamo akademinio streso. Studentų subjektyviai suvokiamam akademiniam stresui įvertinti naudota studentų akademinio streso skalė (Student Academic Stress Scale), socialiniam palaikymui nustatyti – socialinio palaikymo skalė (The Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey), o studentų akademiniams pasiekimams nustatyti prašoma jų pažymėti savo paskutinio semestro studijų vidurkį. Gauti tyrimo duomenys apdoroti naudojant SPSS 22.0 versiją, bei Microsoft Excel programa.
Research goal – to investigate the connection between academic achievements, experiencing social support and subjectively perceived academic stress of students. There were 248 students from Lithuanian colleges and universities who participated in this research. 208 of whom (85,3%) were women and 40 (16,1%) – men. Respondents‘ age varies from 19 to 46 years of age. Data collection methods of research: scientific literature analysis and online survey. Student Academic Stress Scale was used to assess students‘ subjectively perceived academic stress, The Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey was used to assess students‘ social support scale, and to assess their academic achievements, students were asked for their average mark of the last semester of their studies. Received data was processed using SPSS 22.0, as well as Microsoft Excel. Research results concluded that certain types of social support help students achieve better academic achievements. Among men, main factors were informational and emotional social support, and among women – instrumental social support. Results also show that the larger academic stress is felt, the more academic achievements suffer, and the more social support there is, the lesser indicator of stress there is. However, the presumption that social support is a moderator between academic achievements and subjectively perceived academic stress was not validated.
