Šio bakalauro darbo tikslas - aptarti skaitymo įgūdžių lavinimą ir tam naudojamas skaitymo strategijas Liz ir John Soars vadovėlyje studentams Headway Intermediate, kurį 1996 m. išleido Oksfordo universiteto leidykla, ir Yango Limino vadovėlyje Contemporary College English (2010). Šiame darbe remiamasi šiais šaltiniais: Virginia Allen French, Techniques in Teaching Reading (1983); Jeremy Harmer, How to Teach English: An Introduction to the Practice of English Language Teaching (1998); Penny Ur, A Course in Language Teaching (1999); C. West, Reading Techniques (2010); Yongxiang Wang, Teach Reading (2013) ir Audronė Raškauskienė, Irena Ragaišienė ir Ramutė Žemaitienė, Listening and Reading for Exams (2017).
