Šio bakalauro darbo tikslas - aptarti skaitymo įgūdžių lavinimą ir tam naudojamas skaitymo strategijas Liz ir John Soars vadovėlyje studentams Headway Intermediate, kurį 1996 m. išleido Oksfordo universiteto leidykla, ir Yango Limino vadovėlyje Contemporary College English (2010). Šiame darbe remiamasi šiais šaltiniais: Virginia Allen French, Techniques in Teaching Reading (1983); Jeremy Harmer, How to Teach English: An Introduction to the Practice of English Language Teaching (1998); Penny Ur, A Course in Language Teaching (1999); C. West, Reading Techniques (2010); Yongxiang Wang, Teach Reading (2013) ir Audronė Raškauskienė, Irena Ragaišienė ir Ramutė Žemaitienė, Listening and Reading for Exams (2017). Darbą sudaro keturi skyriai. Pirmasis skyrius yra įvadas. Antrame skyriuje paaiškinama skaitymo svarba mokant anglų kalbos (ELT). Šis skyrius yra padalintas į du poskyrius: 2.1 poskyryje aptariami skaitymo įgūdžiai. 2.2 poskyryje aptariami skaitymo užduočių tipai. Trečiajame skyriuje aptariamas skaitymo mokymas Liz ir John Soars vadovėlyje Headway Intermediate Student's Book ir Yang Limin vadovėlyje Contemporary College English. Šis skyrius taip pat suskirstytas į du poskyrius: 3.1 poskyryje aptariami skaitymo įgūdžių tobulinimo pagrindinio studento knygoje ir šiuolaikinio koledžo anglų kalba. 3.2 poskyryje aptariami skaitymo užduočių tipai, naudojami Headway Intermediate Student's Book ir Contemporary College English. Paskutinis darbo skyrius yra išvados, po kurių pateikiamas literatūros sąrašas ir du priedai.
The aim of the present BA thesis is to discuss teaching reading in Liz and John Soars’ textbook for students Headway Intermediate published by Oxford University Press in 1996 and in Chinese textbook Contemporary College English by Yang Limin published in 2010. The present paper draws on are the following sources: Techniques in Teaching Reading (1983) by Virginia Allen French, How to Teach English: An Introduction to the Practice of English Language Teaching (1998) by Jeremy Harmer, A Course in Language Teaching (1999) by Penny Ur, Reading Techniques (2010) by C. West, Teach Reading (2013) by Yongxiang Wang, Listening and Reading for Exams (2017) by Audronė Raškauskienė, Irena Ragaišienė, and Ramutė Žemaitienė. The paper consists of four sections. Section One is the Introduction. Section Two explains the importance of reading in English language teaching (ELT). This section is divided into two subsections: Section 2.1 discusses reading skills. Section 2.2 discusses reading task types. Section Three discusses teaching reading in Headway Intermediate Student’s Book by Liz and John Soars and in Contemporary College English by Yang Limin. This section is also divided into two sub-sections: section 3.1 discusses improving reading skills in Headway Intermediate Student’s Book and in Contemporary College English. Section 3.2 discusses the reading task types that are used in Headway Intermediate Student’s Book and Contemporary College English. The last section of the paper is the conclusion followed by the List of References and two Appendices.
