Parental Authority Questionnaire). Vadovų vadovavimo elgesiui nustatyti buvo pasirinkta naudoti Yukl (2012) hierarchineę vadovavimo elgesio taksonomiją (angl. Hierarchical Taxonomy of Leadership Behaviour) Tyrimo rezultatai atskleidė ir patvirtino teorine apžvalga paremtas prielaidas, jog skirtingų kartų vadovų vadovavimo stiliai susiję su skirtingų kartų tėvų naudojamais auklėjimo stiliais. (Veteranų kartos tėvų leidžiančio auklėjimo sąsajas su kūdikių bumo kartos vadovų į užduotį orientuoto vadovavimo stiliaus; Kūdikių bumo kartos tėvų autoritetingo auklėjimo sąsajas su X kartos vadovų į santykius orientuoto vadovavimo stiliaus; X kartos tėvų autoritarinio auklėjimo sąsajas su Y kartos vadovų į pokyčius orientuoto vadovavimo stiliaus). Tačiau tyrimo rezultatai nepatvirtino išsikeltos hipotezės: vadovų vadovavimo stilių labiau prognozuoja vadovų karta nei tėvų karta bei su ja susijęs tėvų auklėjimo stilius.
According to recent research, a sufficiently high percentage of leadership behaviors are determined by environmental and situational factors, such as early childhood experiences, and the characteristics of parenting (Ghazal, Riaz, 2020). Therefore, the authors are increasingly raising the issue and in research trying to reveal how early childhood experiences contribute to leader formation (Eldad, Benatov, 2018). Moreover, the meaning of generation in the analysis of leadership and parenting relationships gains additional attention (Bako, 2018). The aim of the research is to analyze the connections between the leadership behavior styles of different generations of managers and the retrospective perception of parenting of different generations of parents. Participants: 141 respondent (83 - men and 58 – women). There were 65 leaders of Y generation-, 53 - X generation -, 23 - Baby Boomers. Parents of the participants by generations: X generation - 45, Baby boomer generation - 46, Veterans generation - 50. Methodology: The Buri (1991) Parental Authority Questionnaire was used to retrospectively assess parenting styles. Yukl's (2012) Hierarchical Taxonomy of Leadership Behavior was chosen for the assessment of managerial behavior. The results of the study revealed and confirmed the three-part hypothesis that the leadership styles of different generations of leaders are related to the parenting styles used by parents of different generations. (Veterans generation of parents enabling parenting links with the baby-boom generation of leaders in a task-oriented leadership style; The authoritative upbringing of parents of the baby boom generation links the relationship-oriented leadership style of Generation X leaders; Generations of authoritarian upbringing of Generation X with a change-oriented leadership style of Generation Y leaders.). However, the results of the study did not confirm the hypothesis: the generation of managers predict the leadership style of managers better than the generation of parents and the related parenting style.
