Unal, Begum |
Communication is an immensely important part of sports; accordingly, this paper is on the communication of the essential stakeholders of basketball: officials, coaches, players with a particular focus on Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Throughout the paper, the needs for enhancement are investigated through journals written on similar topics and interviews with the given stakeholders. Despite being best in European basketball, the league needs improvements in several aspects like semi-professionalism of officials, lack of personal development of the given stakeholders, lack of integrity of officials to the league. As the topic is still undiscovered, the material for literature review is rather limited to a few journals while field analysis is enriched with interviews and visual analysis. The paper suggests that it is essential for EuroLeague officials to become professional as coaches and players are, educational activities for personal development of officials, coaches and players should be organized by the governing body and clubs, officials should be allowed be allowed for more interaction with the other stakeholders.
