Abstract

Globalization is multidimensional process that is particularly distinguished by its economic aspect. Economic globalization should be perceived as the growing interdependence of countries globally, reflected in the goods and services increased transaction volume and diversity of freer cross-border capital flows, faster and wider diffusion of technology. With the globalization processes are directly related regionalization processes. Both globalization and regionalization of its nature defines the same process - the internationalization of economic activity. Globalization affects everyone and it influences almost all aspects of our lives. To appraise the impact of globalization on the pig-breeding sector in Lithuania were analyzed the foreign trade figures and calculated globalization index. They show that the pig-breeding sector in Lithuania is intensively influenced by globalization and regionalization processes.
