Abstract

In todays fast-moving world tourism is one of the fastest growing industries not only in Lithuania, but all over the world. Each traveler has a destination: some of them want to see, learn, become acquainted with new traditions, culinary heritage, to experience new sensations, change the environment, to find friends or just relax and have fun. One of the fastest implementing a Lithuanian branch of tourism - rural tourism, which not only allows you to develop a sustainable regional economy, but also helps resolve one of the most pressing problems - the Lithuanian rural population in employment. Therefore, rural tourism should be supported and developed in the Republic of Lithuania on equal terms with other significant business sectors. Rural tourism - an effective natural and cultural heritage, cultural traditions and the conservation measure. Tourism gives meaning to the old manor houses, palaces rehabilitation, water or wind mill use, distinctive landscape, social and historical events in the delivery, increasing community interest in nature, traditions and customs.
