The research was carried out in 2019–2020 in North Lithuania, Biržai district. Aim of the research – to evaluate and compare the growth and preparation for overwintering of different winter oilseed rape varieties. The soil in research area was brown drained deeper carbonic shallow clayey (RDg8–k2), Endocalcari-Epihypogleyic Cambisol (sicco) (CMg-p-w-can). pH was 7,3. The experiment was carried out in eight different oilseed rape varieties – ‘Mercedes’, ‘Phantom’, ‘Temptation’, ‘Android’, ‘Kicker’, ‘Dominator’, ‘Prince’ and ‘Nori’. Five different biometric parameters were measured to compare varietes - number of leaves per plant, root collar diameter, height of apical bud, root lenght and above-ground mass. The findings revealed that all varieties prepared for overwintering successfully. Only one variety – ‘Phantom’ had questionable data for higher leaf number and larger than needed apical bud height.
