VMU Invites Students to Summer Course “Refresh in Lithuania”

Vytautas Magnus University and the Lithuanian Emigration Institute invite people of Lithuanian heritage (age 18 and older) living abroad to attend the summer course Refresh in Lithuania, which will take place in Kaunas on July 18 – 30, 2011

The summer course Refresh in Lithuania is organized for the second year in a row. Its main purpose is to bring together Lithuanians living abroad, help them retain their bond with their family’s homeland and introduce them to modern Lithuania.

The course, which is set to start in July 2011, is targeted towards student-age members of Lithuanian Diaspora, who wish to forge closer ties to Lithuania either by improving their language skills or by learning more about Lithuanian culture and history, as well as social, economic, and political conditions in the country.

The participants of Refresh in Lithuania will attend interesting lectures, visit museums and get to know the everyday life of a Lithuanian student. Trips will be organized to the most beautiful places in Lithuania – Rumšiškės, Vilnius, Trakai, Klaipėda, etc.

The official Patron of the Summer Course is Ms. Irena Degutienė, Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament.

The deadline to submit an application is May 1, 2011. For more information or details on registration to the course, please visit the website of the Lithuanian Emigration Institute or write e-mail to pla@isc.vdu.lt.
