UN Officer to Hold Public Lecture About Refugees

On Wednesday 7 November, 2.30 p.m., a public lecture will be held at VMU Centre for Research and Studies (V. Putvinskio g. 23, Room 412) by Renata Kuleš, External Relations Officer from Vilnius Liaison Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The title of the public lecture is “Refugees Globally – State of Play”. The event is organized by VMU Dept. of Political Science.

“UNHCR is navigating extraordinarily difficult waters. The combination of multiple conflicts and resulting mass displacement, fresh challenges to asylum, the funding gap between humanitarian needs and resources, and growing xenophobia is very dangerous”, the UN High Commisssioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, has said, describing the activities of the UN Refugee Agency.
