Seminar at VMU to Focus on EU and Europe


On April 18, Monday, at the VMU History Hall (K. Donelaičio g. 58, 1st floor), the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy and the Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris) are organizing an international seminar-roundtable discussion, "European Union = Europe?".

The seminar will be devoted to the discussion of the borders of Europe and the European Union, as well as the issue of the centre of Europe and the EU. Other topics of the seminar will include the locations of Lithuania and France and the influence that their place in Europe and the EU has on their politics and relations they have with each other.

The participants of the seminar will include not only VMU students but guests from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University as well. In the opening session, speeches will be made by the VMU Vice-Rector for Public Communication Prof. Auksė Balčytienė and the European Commission‘s delegate in Lithuania Marlene Chereau.

The languages of the event are English and French. The seminar will be taking place from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
